In our classroom we learn letters, their sounds and begin to put them together to read.  We also learn the alphabet in sign language as well as and other simple signs in our daily curriculum.  As children use multiple facets to learn, they are more engaged and in turn are more likely to remember what they learn.  Music is also a big part of our daily curriculum. We enjoy learning many new songs and some familiar tunes. As a teacher, I look for ways to help the children love music.  I love the process of them learning, but my highlight is when they know the songs well enough to sing while I accompany them on the piano...such fun times in preschool!

We enjoy art and crafts, creating and following directions. Playtime is also learning time: dress ups, puppets, blocks, play house, legos, baby dolls, trains, etc.  Social interactions are important as children grow.  In our classroom the students will have opportunities to learn how to share, take turns, work together, and enjoy a positive learning environment.
